Taber Corn

The region’s long, warm summers days and cool nights combined with the availability of water through irrigation of the corn fields means producers can grow lots of high-quality sweet corn.  Approximately 65 million cobs of corn are grown in Alberta each year.  The town of Taber, the centre of the region’s corn area is known to produce the sweetest and most desirable edible corn in the world.

Wondering how to get your hands on some of this corn?  Just keep your eyes open for a roadside corn stand that can now be found in many Alberta communities or search online to find a location near you.

And don’t forget about the Taber Cornfest, the largest FREE family festival in Western Canada, taking place August 22 to 25, 2019 in Taber.  More information on the festival can be found at:  visittaber.com
